Bike Rack Comparable to the Thule Camber 2 Bike Rack That Fits 2 inch Hitch Without Adapter

Question:

In the video for the Thule 958 parkway model , Mile L states , the roadway #912xtr is a better buy for the money because it comes with the antisway cage, etc. Is there a model like the roadway that is for ONLY a 2inch hitch, as I do not trust the adapter method, I have seen one that was not installed properly .

The difference between the (discontinued) Thule Parkway 958 and the Thule Camber # TH9058 is that the Camber has folding arms, and the anti-sway cradles and the Parkway does not. The anti-sway cradles help to keep your bikes from making contact with each other as you travel.

If you are wanting to stick with Thule, then the only bike racks that are available that fit in the 2 inch receivers without an adapter are the 5 bike racks, and the swing-aways. Even though they are similar, they also come with more features which drive the price point up.

The most comparable bike rack that we have to offer which will fit in the 2 inch receivers without an adapter is the Kuat Beta # B202-2. The Beta actually offers a little more that the Roadway does as it is made out of aluminum so it only weighs 12.6 lbs, it uses anti-sway cradles, and it has a built-in anti-wobble device. Since the prices are very similar, this is the bike rack that I recommend you go with.

Some other things to note about the Beta is that you will not have to assemble it; you pull it out of the box and it is already assembled and ready to be used. It also has a shorter distance between the rack arms which means that it can carry most alternative, women's, and children's bikes without an adapter bar like the Kuat Uber Adapter # UB01.

To help deter theft of your bike(s) and the Beta bike rack I recommend using the Kuat Bike Rack Hitch Lock # HL2 along with the Cable Lock # e98891.
