Can Over-Under Kit be Used On Drop Axles To Lift Trailer
Question:
I have a 2007 Work and Play 28br, it has style axles bout 3 that lower the ride of the toy hauler on top of the springs . can I do a spring over conversion with this type of axle ?

Expert Reply:
You can convert your drop axles to get more height by attaching your leaf springs to the top of the axle. The height you gain will be the thickness of your leaf springs and the diameter of your axle.
For example, if your leaf springs are 1-1/2 inches thick and your axle is 2-1/2 inches diameter, you will gain 4-inches of height for your trailer.
We offer two over-under kits for axles. The first is part # K71-384-00 that is designed for 2-3/8-inch axles and the second is part # K71-385-00 for 3-inch axles.
You will want to keep in mind that changing the ride height of the trailer could have the unintended consequences of making the trailer top heavy, less stable and more susceptible to sway.
