5-Way Trailer Wiring and Hitch Recommendation for 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon
Question:
I have a new 2017 Subaru Outback wagon that I wanting to put a hitch on. My motorcycle trailer uses a 5-pole blade style plug rather than the traditional 4-pole so that the 5th can operate a air compressor for the trailers air suspension. Can you tell me how I could accomplish this? Thanks!

For the wiring solution you would need to first start with a 4-way on your 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon. For that you would need the part # 118467 which is a confirmed fit and then to convert it to a 5-way you would need the part # 20036. The fifth pin would get wired directly to the positive pin of your vehicle battery through a breaker like part # 9510 with 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 (sold by the foot).
For a hitch the Draw Tite part # 75673 would be your best option as well. It has the highest capacities and best price.
