Recommended Solenoid For Camper That Protect The Battery Charge On Truck
Question:
So which option should I use when using the 12 volt in my truck and not draining my truck battery. I would love to put a computer in my truck for a member to watch a movie while sleeping in the back. Not to mention when putting in a slide in truck camper on my truck and forget to unplug the camper to the truck that I also don't drain it then. Please help me with the correct information to purchase. # PK5230701 or # PK5231201

I recommend the Pollak Starter Solenoid, part # PK5230701, to protect your truck battery charge. The # PK5231201 is also a good option and will perform in the same manner.
The solenoid allows the vehicle battery to send power to the camper battery when the vehicle is running or in accessory mode. It will not draw power from the battery when the accessory wire is switched off so the camper battery will not draw power from the truck battery resulting in a possible situation of your truck not starting. With a solenoid like this in place, you will be able to almost drain your camper battery without having the truck battery affected.
