Trailer Hitch, Ball Mount, Ball, and Wiring Recommendations for a 2002 Subaru Outback
Question:
I notice that this hitch is for the 1990s model, but would it also fit a 2002 outback? Thank you

We do have a Draw-Tite trailer hitch that will fit, the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 36284, is confirmed to fit your 2002 Subaru Outback Sedan or Wagon. I have included a link to the installation instructions for reference. I have also included a video link showing the hitch being installed on a 2000 Subaru Outback Wagon. installation will be similar on your 2002 model.
If you plan on doing some towing, the recommended ball mount is # 36053 with pin and clip # PC2. You can use ball # 19256 (1-7/8 inch diameter) or # 19258 (2 inch diameter). For trailer wiring, you would use T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Trailer Connector, # 118461. I have included a link to the installation details and a link to a video showing a typical installation of this harness.
