Roof Cargo Box Recommendations for the Roof of a Tear Trailer

Question:

I bought a tear trailer and would like to mount a roof top box. There are so many to choose from, can you help. I dont mind the expense but want quality and NOT MADE IN CHINA. I have nothing against Chinese people, just the products made there. The other problem is choosing the size. I anticipate at most 4 people on the camping excursion with the tear . I am a seasoned camper and dont anticipate anything more than camping gears and some spare clothes. Let me know your thoughts. I have an Inno on my SUV currently and it has worked great.

Thule, Yakima, and SportRack cargo boxes are made in the USA. Rhino-Rack is an Australian company and Inno is a Japanese company. For gear for 4 people I recommend at least a 16 cubic foot box such as the Thule Pulse Large # TH615, Force XT, # TH6357B, or Motion XT, # TH629707 for silver or # TH629706 for black.

From Yakima you could use the SkyBox # Y95AV. Or another option (though it is 14 cubic feet) is the RocketBox # Y07192.

From SportRack I recommend either the Horizon # SR7016 (which is 16 cubic feet).

The other thing to think about is how you are going to mount the box to the trailer. Tear trailers tend to have curved roofs so this will limit the amount of front to back, flat space available to mount crossbars which is what you would mount the box too. You could potentially use roof rack # S80510 or # SR1020.
