Replacement Threaded Screw and Pin for Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR

Question:

I bought the TH934XTR in January, just completed an 8,000 mile trip to the West Coast and back! Worked great, but I noted some jiggling at times. Tightened up the main bolt and that mostly worked. But when I got home and tore down, I found that the screw that held the sleeve in place was broken off! Thought it was tight, but maybe not. At any rate, can you provide a replacement? I am going to have a struggle removing the shaft of the screw chemicals, heat, drill and easy-out???. Thanks

If you are needing the Flat Cap Screw that holds the adapter on the shank of the Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR, then you are needing part # 853-5787-02.

If what you are needing is the replacement threaded pin for the Hitching Post Pro then you will need part # 853-5917.

You can use the Ratchet with 3/4 inch Socket # PT20104-38524 to tighten the anti-rattle bolt down. This is a convenient thing to just keep in your rear cargo area so you don't have to go hunt down a wrench or socket.

An upgrade to the anti-rattle bolt is the Thule Snug-Tite Hitch Lock and Anti-Rattle Device # THSTL2 which will allow you to add some extra security to your bike rack.

Using heat and a drill can work for getting the bolt out, but be very careful not to compromise the integrity of the bike rack or your trailer hitch.
