Recommended Method To Lift A KZ 2857 5th Wheel Trailer A Few Inches
Question:
I have a new dodge truck, new to me, 2014 3/4 dodge ram. I intended to pull my KZ2857 5th wheel with it but the new truck is about 3 inches higher than my old Ford F250 and although I can hook it up ok it does not ride level going down the road. I have lowered the 5th wheel hitch to the lowest level I can and still have some clearance on my pickup box. Is there a way to put a lift kit on the trailer so it sits higher and will ride level going down the road? Thank you in advance for your assistance. Respectfully

For your KZ 2857 5th Wheel Trailer, you can use an Over-Under Conversion Kit. This will put the axles under the springs instead of on top of them adding a few inches to your trailer based on the diameter of your axle. You can use the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit # K71-384-00 for 2-3/8 inch axles or # K71-385-00 for 3 inch axles. It is recommended to have the new spring seats tacked in place on the other side of the trailer axle.
