Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 with Fifth Wheel Hitch
Question:
My 99 Dodge 1500/2-wheel drive needs help, as it has the sag when towing my 2013 Cougar Lite 27RK fifth wheel. Which air bag kit for the rear suspension would you recommend ? The truck has a 5.9 V-8 and the trailers empty weight is 7000 lbs. I need your help. Thanks.

Helpful Expert Reply:
The suspension kit you need for your 1999 Dodge Ram will actually have to be a Timbren like the part # TDR1525H2 as the air bag kit brackets are not compatible with the frame brackets of the fifth wheel kits.
The Timbren kit I mentioned will provide up to 6,000 lbs of suspension support when needed and won't require any air bag pressure maintenance so in a lot of ways it's a better option than air bags.
