Troubleshooting Curt T-Connector # C56217 For 2016 Toyota Highlander
Question:
I recently purchased product # 56217. I installed it according to the written instructions and the video instructions. It worked for a few minutes but then stopped working. The fuse near the Curt unit did not blow and the fuse in the fuse box did not blow. I suspect its a faulty controller. It is installed on a 2016 Toyota Highlander. Id like to return it for another unit. Please advise and thank you!

On the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56217, since you don't have a blown fuse in your fuse box or the inline fuse, it is very possible the controller is bad. You will want to check functions with a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to confirm as the issue could be before the converter or in the four way harness.
First, I recommend checking the ground on the converter for a clean metal to metal connection. Then I would check the functions at the 4 way and work your way back to that quick connect and check function there. Then check the output of the converter followed by the input. If the input is good and the output is bad, then you would need to return the converter. If the input is bad, you will want to trace wires as it is a vehicle wiring issue. Use the circuit tester to check the individual sides of each fuse as well.
