5th Wheel Rail Kit and Hitch Recommendation for 2016 Ram 2500 for Use with Reese Revolution Pin Box

Question:

I have a 2016 RAM 2500 4x4 with a short bed. I had a BandW turn over ball installed when I bought the truck. I recently purchased a camper that has the Reese revolution/5th airborne sidewinder pin box on it. My question is there any way I can install a set of 5th rails in addition to my BandW hitch? So that I can buy a 5th wheel hitch that will work with the sidewinder pin box. I just wonder if it would be possible to fit both sets of brackets under my bed. Or should I scrap the BandW hitch and just have a set of rails. Have you had any experience with how well the sidewinder pin box works with the short bed dodges?

You will have to remove the B and W gooseneck to install a set of fifth wheel rails. I wish there was a different way but it's the only way you'll be able to install the hitch.

For a custom fifth wheel rail kit you would want the part # RP50054-58 which is confirmed as a fit for your 2016 Ram 2500. Then you can use a stationary hitch like the part # RP30047 which will work well for you. It has a cushioned head and a 360 degree contact jaw system that provides great contact and a smooth ride.

When it comes to towing a fifth wheel trailer with a short bed truck there really isn't a better option than the Sidewinder/Reese Revolutions. They give you the needed turning clearance without requiring the slider and even allow the trailer to track behind the trailer better plus back up easier.
