Troubleshooting Weak Brakes on 2017 Forest River/Surveyor Model 251RKS Trailer
Question:
Customer says Trailer has less braking than his old one? Im trying to adjust the Star Wheel up but there is a small plate that the wheel clicks on and prevents star wheel from being turned up, which is the way to turn for adjusting right? It will spin down fine, but the plate stops the wheel from spinning the other direction? Please help if possible! Lippert Axles! Thank

Sounds like you have self adjusting brakes and the linkage is partially preventing you from accessing the star wheel adjuster. I have an easier solution for you though.
What you need to do is just apply the brakes several times as you are towing the trailer at a slow speed which will activate the assembly's tensioner and will automatically adjust them to the proper tension. You should feel the brakes get more sensitive with every application.
If the assemblies were manual-adjust assemblies there wouldn't be anything blocking the star wheel.
