Can Dual-Cam Sway Control be Added to Reese Weight Distribution that Uses Friction Sway Control
Question:
We currently have a Reese 1,200lb/12,000lb trunion bar WD hitch setup using friction sway control. We just picked up our new TT last night and have a ton of sway on the freeway. Our old TT was only 5,000lbs and 550lb TW, and we had no sway. Our new TT is 9,000lbs and 940lb TW, and Im thinking we need something better than the friction sway control. Question is, I would like to add this to our current WD hitch setup instead of purchasing a whole new setup. Buy looking at the product pictures, it appears to be the same hitch we currently have, just without this cam setup. I would like to make sure adding this cam system will work for what we have. Thanks!

As long as your spring bars have the hook end, like # RP66009, you can use dual-cam sway control # RP26002. If the bars are straight at the ends then you cannot use it and would have to also replace the spring bars.
Also make sure that the tongue weight of the new trailer is 10 to 15 percent of the gross trailer weight and that the trailer is level when towed and that will help reduce the chance of sway as well.
