How Long Does Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller 90195 Remain Active After Shut-Off

Is the P3 suppose to stay on while the car is off? I have a 2009 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 Ltz.

What you are noting is normal operation of the Prodigy P3.

The Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller # 90195 will remain active until the vehicle has been absolutely still for about 15 minutes. After this length of inactivity the controller will power itself down until it is again awakened by motion of the vehicle. This sensor is very sensitive so even just opening the door and sitting down in the car for a moment will cause to unit to re-activate or re-start the 15-minute period. During the time the P3 is active it will draw only a very tiny amount of power so there is no need for concern about battery drain.
