Recommended Air Suspension Systems For 2004 Toyota Tacoma With 1-1/2 Inch Lift On Leaf Springs
Question:
I have a 2004 Tacoma dbl cab 4wd trd. I have 1.5 inch add a leaf to the rear springs. I want to add air bags to the rear for towing purposes. I was curious if you recommend the air ride or firestones. I see firestones need an additional spacer....do the air rides???

You are correct. The Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs, part # F2304 do require spacers like part # F2536 since you have a 1-1/2 inch lift on your 2004 Tacoma. This system has a load-leveling capacity of 4,800-lbs and helps reduce the strain on your suspension.
The Air lift Air Ride system that is designed to work with your Tacoma is part # AL59537. This system has a load leveling capacity of 2,000-lbs. No spacers are needed with this system because the bottom bracket attaches directly to the leaf spring.
These systems will not increase the load carrying capacity of your truck and should be used with a suspension system in good working condition.
