20k Reese Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2015 Ram 3500 with Hitch Prep for Smooth Ride

Question:

Sir/Maam, I am in the process of buying a Jayco Seismic 4212 toy hauler. Unloaded vehicle weight = 15,660 lbs, dry hitch weight = 3425 lbs and gross vehicle weight rating of 20,000 lbs. I have a 2015 Dodge Ram 3500 dually with factory 5th wheel prep. I have three questions: 1. Ive seen some Reese 5th wheel hitches I like that are rated to 20,000 lbs. is it recommended to use a 5th wheel hitch thats rated to 20,000 or should I get a 24,000 lb capacity hitch? 2. Im new to 5th wheel hitches and also curious as to what is the best hitch to minimize cluncking when going down the road? 3. Ive also heard it may behoove me to look into getting air bags on the rear to help level out the load. Is this something you recommend and of so, what is recommended? Id prefer compressor on board so my wife can use more easily when Im away. Thanks in advance for your help. -

The hitch I would highly recommend is the Reese part # RP30918. This fits directly to the rail kit of your 2015 Ram 3500 and has a 20k capacity. To prevent chucking/noise this hitch uses a hook which grabs the king pin and holds it tightly which reduces movement.

Air bag kits don't make the ride quality softer. They are intended to give the suspension additional support so they wouldn't be what you are looking for.
