Recommended Roof Vent for 2013 Ford Transit Connect
Question:
I am looking for a roof vent for our 2013 Ford Transit Connect. Our restriction is in the additional height of vehicle. We are looking for maximum cooling with minimum height. Which products would you recommend? Thanks

I have a couple of different options for a roof vent on your 2013 Ford Transit.
A lot of our roof vents sit around the same height, so it really just depends on what kind of style you would like to have. The Ventline Ventadome # V2110SP-24 is a good option because it only adds 2 inches in height when closed, and 11 inches in height when opened. You can also make sure that your roof vent matches the rest of your Transit by painting it. This manual vent doesn't include a fan and requires the install kit # 344270KITW, which has the screws and sealant that you need.
The next option is the Ventline Ventadome # V2094SP-28. This vent has a manual lift, but it also has a fan built into it to give you that extra cooling that you are asking for. This vent adds 4-1/2 inches when it is closed and 10 inches when open. This option also requires the install kit # RVIKIT100, which has the screws and sealant that you need
The third option, which is the option I recommend going with, is the MaxxAir MaxxFan Plus # MA00-04500K. The reason I recommend this one is because it not only has a 12 inch fan, but it also has a remote that you can use to open and close the vent. This way you can turn the fan on, load up your van, and then when you want that extra ventilation, you can just open the lid using the remote. This vent and fan combination adds 3-3/4 of an inch when closed, and adds 12-1/2 inches when opened. This vent comes with the hardware, but you will want to use sealant, like part # 0160297, to make sure that your roof doesn't leak around the fan.
For additional wiring, I recommend Deka Primary Wire # DW02359-1.
I have added some demonstration videos for you as well.
