Installing The Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller In 2001 Ford F-250

I have a 2001 Ford F-250 superduty diesel........am connecting a used primus iq /illumination wire not connected /does it have to be? Thanks

For your Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 3 Axles - Proportional, # TK90160, there isn't an illumination only wire. The wires are power (black), ground (white), stoplight (Red) and brake (blue). I've attached an article on brake controller installation to help.

All 4 wires are essential for proper function of your brake controller. I recommend using the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers, # 3035-P to make this connection easy.
