Installing Brake Controller on 1985 Toyota 4 Runner
Question:
I have a 1985 toyota 4-runner and I need to wire a Prodigy P2 brake controller. I have the controller itself that I use in another vehicle but I need to purchase the mount for it and all the wiring/connectors needed to mount it in my 1985 4runner. Do you have a schematic for what I need to wire up?

To install the P2 in your 1985 4Runner, you will need the Brake Controller Installation Kit, part # ETBC7.
If your 4Runner does not already have a 4-pole trailer connector, you will need to install one using part # C59496. The 4-pole to 7-way adapter included with the install kit will plug into the 4-pole, once it is installed. The kit also includes all needed circuit breakers, wire and hardware.
To transfer the controller back and forth between two vehicles, you will need a replacement pocket mount, part # 7686 and the replacement pigtail, part # 20127.
I have linked you to an FAQ article that explains how the install kit is used, as well as an install video showing the kit being used on a Toyota Tundra.
