Brake Controller and Install Harness Recommendation for 2005 Dodge Ram

Question:

I have a 2005 Dodge Ram and this weekend I will be purchasing a 20 foot car hauler with one brake axle. I was looking at a proportional brake unit. Which would you recommend? I will not be keeping this truck more than a year and will upgrade to another truck and will probably take this device with me. Thanks for your help.

For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes.

The correct harness you then would need to install the controller is the part # 3020-P which will allow you to simply install it in your 2005 Dodge Ram.
