Can a 2016 Jeep Cherokee Support 280 Pounds of Chair Lift and Chair

Question:

I have a 2016 jeep cherokee that I want to put a chair life on. The lift weights app. 230 lb. The chair weights about 50 lb. will my jeep Handel this weight without damaging the car?

As long as your 2016 Jeep Cherokee has the 3.2 liter motor with the trailer tow package then it can support up to 450 pounds tongue weight which is more than enough for the chair lift and chair combined.

If you have the 3.2 liter but do not have the factory tow package the vehicle is limited to 200 pounds tongue weight and the same goes for the 2.4 liter motor with or without the factory tow package.

If you do have the 3.2 liter and factory tow package I recommend etrailer hitch # e73ZR because with it only the receiver tube will be visible. I have linked a video showing an example installation of this hitch for you.
