Platform Bike Rack that Won't Rust and Holds Bikes at the Wheels Only for a 2006 Honda Element
Question:
Hi- we currently have a swagman xc2 platform rack for our 2006 Honda Element which we love because it is low enough that it allows us to fold down our tailgate, but it has started to rust and the contact points of the hatchet arms have damaged the paint on our bike frames. Could you recommend another platform rack that carries 2 bikes, attaches at the wheels only, and would allow us to use our tailgate when the rack is on? We have a 2inch hitch receiver and are looking for something of higher quality up to $550. Thanks!

I have several great bike rack options that I think you will really like. Take a look at the Kuat Sherpas, # SH22G for gray, # SH22B for black, and # SH22P for pearl. Since you mentioned that your current rack is rusting I have purposely selected these racks because they are aluminum and are not susceptible to corrosion and they hold the bikes at the wheels only so no frame contact. And it doesn't hurt that they are well within your budget. I have also included a picture showing all the important measurements so you can determine if you can open the tailgate on your 2006 Honda Element.
