Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2016 Kia Sorento
Question:
Is there a reason you suggest the Draw Tight Custom Hitch vs. the Curt hitch? The Curt has a higher max tongue weight so I was wondering why the forum recommends the Draw TIght.

For your 2016 Kia Sorento, I recommend the Curt Class III hitch # C13195, over the Draw-Tite Hitch # 75908. I recommend the Curt hitch receiver because the tongue weight is so much stronger at 750 pounds versus the 500 lb rating of the Draw-Tite.
The reason I think people may lean toward the Draw-Tite for your vehicle is the installation is slightly easier saving between 10 and 20 minutes. Some people also don't like that Curt recommends that you use a stabilization strap, # 18050, for all non-trailer loads.
With this hitch receiver, I recommend an adjustable ball mount like the # C45900 that has up to a 5 inch rise or a 6 inch drop. It comes with a 2 inch ball and a 2-5/16 inch ball.
For your wiring needs, I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, # C56256. This powered converter reduces strain on your vehicle's wiring system and plugs directly into your existing factory wiring behind your tail lights.
