Adjusting the Height of a 5th Wheel Trailer to Tow it Level with a Silverado 3500 4x4

Question:

I have a 27 foot Keystone Springdale 5th Wheel that I used to tow with my 4X4 1500 Silverado. I recently upgraded to a Silverado 3500 HD 4X4 and now my 5th wheel is not level when towing. My springs are already on top of my trailer axles, what are my options?

First, you can try adjusting the height of both the 5th wheel hitch and the pin box on the trailer. Adjusting the hitch down will lower the front of the trailer and adjusting it up will raise the height. On the pin box if you raise it up it will lower the front and if you drop it down it will raise the height.

If you cannot get enough adjustment out of the hitch and pin box AND because the axles are already below the springs on the trailer the remaining option is to replace the suspension hangers with taller ones. I have included a link to our hanger main page for you.
