We have just what you need. The correct air bag you are looking for is our part # F6859. This is the Firestone model 224C which is the correct replacement bag for the kit part # F2070 which is what your 1998 Ford F-53 Class A motorhome would have.

I have a 1995 Rexhall Aerbus Model XL3100 on a F53 chassis GVWR 17,000 lbs, 6000 front, 11000 back equipped with rear Firestone Ride-Rite airbags which need to be replaced. With the rear wheels removed, this looks like it would be an easy installation because there arent coil springs, the bottom of the bags rest on a bracket that straddles the leaf springs and the tops are connected to a frame mounted bracket. What model should I order and are there any installation surprises I should expect? Thanks for any help you can provide. -

The same replacement air bag # F6859 that Jameson mentioned above is actually the right one for the rear Firestone kit on your 1995 Rexhall RV as well. Installation should be pretty straight-forward like you mentioned.

@ChrisR Thanks Chris. I've ordered the 224C bags and airline kit. In the meantime, with the wheels off it was easy to remove one of the old bags. With the F53 frame on jackstands and the axle unsupported, the distance between the airbag brackets measures 9.25". Since this is slightly more than the distance mentioned in the installation guide, will it damage the bag to stretch it to fill this space? Thanks - Dave

@DaveP I don't think the gap will be an issue once the F-53 is actually down and loaded, as the suspension will be working at this point to close up that space.
