Question:

Where is this fitting usually used? Does one of them fit into the transmission cooler fittings on the radiator?

This Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for Ford, Lincoln and Mercury, # D13025, the male threaded end of the fitting goes into your vehicle's radiator and is a thread perfect fit so there is no leaking. The female end of the adapter attaches to the line you removed from the radiator that runs to your transmission. The other end of each fitting is a hose barb where a rubber hose slides over. The hose is then held in place with a hose clamp. One rubber hose will run to your transmission cooler and the other from it and it doesn't matter which end to which end. These fittings help you to connect your radiator to your transmission cooler quickly and easily with no cutting or flaring of lines. Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury radiators that have threaded fittings for the transmission lines, make this install easy with this adapter.

I've attached a couple help articles for you.
