How Much Does Demco Hijacker Weigh When Disassembled to Remove From Truck Bed
Question:
Currently I have a 2016 Ram 3500 using a Pullrite Autoslide hitch. I am looking for a lighter alternative. I would like to know how much this hitch weights? Can it separate into 2 or 3 pieces to ease removal from the truck bed, if so, how many pieces, and how much does each pies weight? Basically I want to know if getting this hitch in and out of the truck bed is a one person job.

The total weight of the 18k Demco Hijacker Autoslide # DM8550034 is listed at 265 pounds. You can disassemble the hitch when taking the hitch out of your 2016 Ram 3500 and then head weighs approximately 40 pounds leaving about 225 pounds for the base.
For a lighter hitch you will need to go with a manual slide, like the Curt # C16541 which is 230 lbs before being disassembled.
