I would like to mount a 2 receiver on rear of Komfort travel trailer. You talk about stabilizing straps for non-tow loads. What would be the configuration of such straps for a 2 receiver mounted cargo rack with a 200lb load?

The Curt Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RV, part # 13703, is designed to fit many frame styles on RVs and motorhomes. It can be attached to your travel trailer, but you will want to check with the trailer manufacturer to make sure your Komfort travel trailer can accept the maximum tongue weight of 350 lbs on this hitch.

Since there will be significantly more bouncing at the rear of the travel trailer when it is being towed, the manufacturer (Curt) requires the use of stabilizing straps. The straps give added support and stability to the cargo rack and will keep the movement of the loaded cargo rack to a minimum, which puts less stress on the hitch.

You will want to attach a stabilizing strap to each side of the cargo rack and attach the other end of the strap to a tie down higher up on the travel trailer. This way, the straps will be able to help support the load on the cargo rack and also help keep the cargo rack from bouncing around on the hitch. That is one example of attaching the stabilizing straps to your travel trailer. What you will want to accomplish when attaching the stabilizing straps to the cargo rack is to eliminate as much movement of the cargo rack in the hitch as possible.

You can use the Erickson Motorcycle and ATV Tie-Downs with Soft Ties and TCS Buckles # EM05729 as the stabilizing straps and if you need a tie down, for attaching the straps to your travel trailer, you can use the Brophy Trailer D-Ring Tie Down # SR15-C.
