Recommended Vinyl Trim Insert for Window Channel on 1980 Prowler Travel Trailer

Question:

The picture is of the track the old, brittle screw molding on a 1980 Prowler travel trailer we bought was running in. The aluminum track around the windows is 1/2 in wide. If I buy this 3/4 vinyl product, will it flex over the screw heads and slide in the track, or am I looking at the wrong product?

Thank you for the photo of your travel trailer's window trim channel for which you are looking for new cosmetic vinyl trim. I went to our warehouse to look at Camco trim insert # CAM25262 which at 3/4-inch width is the closest to your channel's approximately 1/2-inch inside width.

This product has a slight u-shape, meaning it is mostly flat but has a gentle curve on both sides. This trim would likely be best installed in your channel by pressing it in directly rather than trying to slide it in over the screw heads. The material is fairly stiff so tension ought to hold it in at the inside portion of the channel. This would have the trim strip in something of an arc-shape inside the channel's narrowest point.

Since this is a general-purpose product not intended for any specific trailer application I cannot guarantee the fit but it is the correct type of trim product for your requirement.
