Class III Hitch for 2009 Subaru Forester for Use with Hitch-Mounted Scooter Carrier
Question:
Hello, I would like to confirm that I can use a 2-inch scooter hitch-mounted carrier with this product. This sounds like a very good product so Im hoping it will work okay. I have a Genuine Buddy 170i, which weighs a bit less than 250 lbs. Thank you.

The Curt Class III hitch # 13147 is a confirmed fit on your 2009 Subaru Forester. An installation video is linked for you.
This hitch has a 2-inch receiver opening for Class III accessories like scooter or cargo carriers that have a 2-inch shank. One such example is the etrailer Motorcycle Carrier # e98873. This and others are shown on the linked page.
The total combined weight of your scooter and the carrier you use all together must remain within the hitch tongue weight (TW) rating of 400-lbs. You can also check your Forester owner's manual for any weight limits for the car itself. Always go by the limit of the lowest-rated item. If the car has a lower TW rating then that becomes the overall limit.
