Recommended Wiring and Brake Controller for a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe

Question:

Hello. I have a 2015 Hyundai Santa Ge which is equipped with the factory tow package/wiring connections. I have already purchased a trailer hitch and lighting harness from you. Need to add a brake controller. Need suggestions on the controller to use and is there another wiring harness which would be useful. Regards.

Great news! I can help.

I took a look at your order history and noticed you purchased the 4-way # 118269 and 7-way adapter # HM48470.

This would give you the 4-way connector that you could adapt to wire up the 7-way with those 4 functions. To finish the connections for the 7-way for a brake controller you will need # 5506 and a brake controller universal adapter for your 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe, this will depend on the brake controller you choose.

A proportional brake controller I really like is the Tekonsha P2 # 90885, A proportional brake controller means it senses how the tow vehicle is slowing or stopping and applies the trailer's brakes with the same intensity. This is the best selling controller on the market because of how easy it is to setup and use, and how well it works. The P3 # 90195 is like the P2's big brother it has all the same great features but it also comes with a full display screen instead of codes that need deciphering.

Both these brake controllers will come with the universal adapter # 20127 to make your connections under the dash.

I have linked an installation video of the ETBC7 with a different brake controller to this page for you to reference the installation, it will be similar to your setup except you've already purchased the Hopkins 7-way adapter, the only difference would be that you will have to pin the Hopkins 7-way and the ETBC7 7-way is prewired.

I have linked all the above mentioned products to this page for your convenience.
