Closest 15 inch Trailer Tire Size to ST215/75R14
Question:
I have a boat/trailer aprox 3500 lbs depending on tackle and fuel, etc. Currently Im running ST215/75R14 on two tires total. Most tires Ive seen pick out about 1800 lbs. I am considering upgrading to 15inch tires to obtain a higher load rating. What size 15inch tire do I look for that is comparable in height and size to ST215/75R14? Would that be ST215/75R15, or would that be ST205/75R15?

Your tire size of ST215/75R14 has an overall diameter of 26.7 inches. The closest 15 inch diameter wheel and tire in terms of diameter to that would be size 205/75-15 which has a 27.1 inch diameter. This would be your best option.
If you have the very popular bolt pattern of 5 on 4-1/2 inch you would want the Westlake ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire w/ 15" Silver Mod Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range D # LHAW121. This has a weight capacity of 2,150-lb max load at 65 psi and a higher than usual speed rating of 75 mph.
