Replacement Trailer Wiring Harness Recommendation for 1999 Jeep Cherokee to Replace Shorted One
Question:
Hi - I was given a Curtis Trailer Hitch and the 1999 Jeep Cherokee T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector for my 1999 Cherokee XJ purchased from eTrailer. I have installed both on the car but the brake and turn signals are not working. I used a light tester to check the wires going into the converter and all wires have power but only 2 have power coming out of the converter box. Is there a way to fix this or does it need to be replaced?

You have effectively troubleshooted the converter box of your trailer wiring harness on your 1999 Jeep Cherokee. It has an internal short and needs to be replaced.
Since the Tow Ready brand tends to be a bit more reliable than Curt I would recommend you replace it with the part # 118354.
