The easiest way to find out if any hitch accessory will work with your rear-mounted spare on your FJ Cruiser is to take a quick measurement.

You will need a tape measure and a straight edge like a yardstick or a dowel. Place the straight edge vertically against the back of the bumper or spare tire, letting it extend below the trailer hitch receiver opening. Then measure from the center of the hitch pin to the straight edge. This will give you the distance you need to clear the bumper or spare tire.

For the Kuat Sherpa 2.0, part # SH22G, the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the bike carrier when folded up is 9-inches, and when the carrier is folded down that distance is 13-inches. If the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of your spare tire is 8-inches or less, the Sherpa will work great for you.
