Recommended 5th Wheel Sliding Hitch for 2013 Ford F-250 SRW Shortbed Pickup

Question:

Hi, I have a 2013 F-250 SRW 4x4 Crew Cab with a short bed and need to get a 5th wheel hitch installed. The truck does not have the factory prep package but has had a 5th wheel installed previously. There are brackets attached to the frame and holes drilled into the bed that line up with the brackets see photos. The holes are 34..5 inches across on center and 22 inches front to back on center. The front set of holes has another hole in the middle. I am guessing I need some sort of rail with a sliding hitch package but not sure. It sounds like the universal rail type items might work? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks..

Thank you for the photos of your truck. It looks like the truck had a custom-fit 5th wheel bracket kit installed previously and that the base rails were removed. You will need a sliding 5th wheel hitch for your short-bed 2013 Ford F-250 SRW pickup.

We do not recommend mixing 5th wheel hitch components from different brands because in some cases there can be compatibility issues between the rails and under-bed brackets. Unless you can confirm the brand of those brackets you will be better off using either a new universal install kit # RP30035 (which takes more time but is less costly) or a custom-fit kit # RP50026-58.

With the base rails in place you can use any industry standard 5th wheel slider hitch, such as the 16K Pro Series # PS30857 or the Curt # C16521 which features round slider tubes (which bind up less often than square tubes) as well as a fully-cushioned 360-degree-pivoting head for easier hitching.

If you need a wiring harness for the truck bed use part # C56000.
