Manually Running Brake Controller Blue Wire to 7-Way on 2007 Toyota Tundra without Tow Package

Question:

Your article says to cut the blue wire on the the harness 3040-p and run 10ga wire to the back of the truck. Does that mean all 3 wires need to be connected or just from the brake controller back

You must be referring to the following statement that is in a different question and answer:

"If the connector is active, you can use the wiring adapter part # 3040-P to connect the brake controller to the vehicle. You would need to cut the blue wire on the harness and use a length of 10 gauge wire, part # 10-1-1 to run the brake output circuit to the rear of the vehicle."

This means that you would cut the blue wire free from the 3040-P connector at the end that plugs into the truck. You would not do anything with the other wires assuming of course that the factory plug is present and active on the truck. You would attach one end of the wire to the end of that blue wire you cut free and run the other end to the back of a 7-Way trailer connector where it will attach in the 7 o'clock position.
