For your 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Curt makes two hitches confirmed as a fit but the part # C13182 is the better choice as it has a better price, better capacities, and is a round tube hitch which is more hidden than the square tube hitches. This hitch has a tongue weight capacity of 750 and total trailer weight of 5,000 lbs without a weight distribution system and with a WD it has towing capacities of 750 lbs and 7,500 lbs total trailer weight.

Weight distribution systems offer a way to redistribute tongue weight to allow trailer to tow more weight typically and level the tow vehicle out.

Since you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.

For trailer wiring you would want the part # 118425 to give you a 4-way.

From there you would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well.
