One Roof Rack and Kayak Carriers that Will Fit Both a 2010 Subaru Forester and 2005 Pontiac Montana

We are trying to spend less and only get 1 set of cross rails to fit both our 2010 Subaru Forester and 2005 Pontiac Montana SV6 both have the factory side raised rails that run front to back - looks like the Rola 47, Thule Crossroads 50, and Rocky Mountain 47inch will all fit both. Will all these fit Yakima Hullraiser Kayak holders? Also which would be easiest to take on and off and have the least wind noise? Were looking to carry 2 10-11 kayaks ideally 3 if possible.

For the lowest cost roof rack option that will fit both your 2005 Pontiac Montana and 2010 Subaru Forester, both with side rails, I recommend using Inno feet # INFR with 50 inch bars # INB127. This system will be fast and easy to install or remove and it is compatible with the Yakima HullRaiser kayak carrier Y04039. I know it isn't one of the ones you mentioned but based on limiting cost it is the best option.

But using these carriers will limit you to 2 kayaks at most because there just isn't enough space. To carry 3 kayaks I recommend the Rhino-Rack Nautic Stack # RRS520. I have linked a video on this carrier for you.

To reduce wind noise what I recommend is to add a fairing, # INA260, instead of going with a more expensive roof rack. Plus the fairing looks cool! This one fairing is the appropriate size for both vehicles.

Be sure to consult the vehicle owner's manuals for the weight capacity of the roof rack/side rails prior to loading.
