How Should I Mount My E-Track Trailer Cargo Control for Securing Generators and Air Compressors

Question:

Interested in finding out what is best to use for installing sections of 2 track, wood screws or bolt/washer/nuts? I have a Continental Cargo trailer that features 3/4 plywood floors with 24 O/C framing. I am wanting to secure items such as a generator, a power washer, 90 gallon water tank and a Craftsman 30 gallon stand up air compressor. These items dont weigh anything close to say an ATV or motorcycle so my thought is that Id be able to get to get away with fastening the tracks down with 1/2 wood screws but I wanted to ask the experts of their opinions for my use of the product. Thanks,

You can mount the E-Track Trailer Cargo Control, # EM59150, using either wood screws or by using bolts with washers and nuts if you like. There is no recommended way to mount the E-Track, installation can be done a variety of ways and is at the discretion of the installer.

I personally would use nuts and bolts with washers, as long as getting to the back of the plywood would be possible. If it would be too much of a chore to use nuts, bolts, and washers I think that if you put a wood screw in every other screw hole, starting in the middle and working your way out to prevent buckling or bending, you would be good to go.

If you use the nuts, bolts, washers approach you might also consider using a backing plate, or large washers, if you are interested in having as much support as possible.
