Replacement Coupler Recommendation for a Trailer with a 3 inch Wide Channel

Question:

Currently have a welded-on coupler on my boat trailer. Trailer has Electric Over Hydraulic brakes with a break-away system. The coupler is pretty rusted due to trailer being stored next to saltwater. Id like to remove the welded-on coupler and replace with a bolt-on. I dont like the idea of drilling holes in the trailer to mount the coupler but I would prefer to have a bolted-on over the welded-on for maintenance reasons. The tongue is 3inch wide x 4inch high. Will this tongue work or is it only to be used with a braking system? Ive also been looking at the Demco EZ Latch but like the looks of this one better

The Titan Coupler part # T4853100 would work well for you as it is designed for 3 inch wide channel like what your trailer has and can be bolted on. You would need to drill the needed holes on your trailer but it would easily mount and work well. It has a 21k capacity and is designed for a 2-5/16 inch hitch ball.

I attached a review video for this coupler for you to check out as well.
