Sidewinder Recommendation for Truck Bed Making Contact with Pin Box

Question:

i have a 2015 chevy 2500hd. i have a Reeses 16K slide hitch with a Lippert rotoflex 1621 king pin. the problem i have is the reese hitch is set to the highest it will go up18. When making turns the king pin is contacting the truck bed rails. i have measured the truck bed height and it is 33inch from bed to top of bed rails. Do i need to get a new hitch that is taller or a new king pin that has better clearance? fyi i can not adjust the king pin down anymore. even if i did it would only give me more trailer to bed clearance. Not king pin to bed rail clearance.

Your issue is interesting but adding more height to your setup really won't be the solution since that will cause your trailer to sit nose high and it needs to be level.

For a replacement pin box solution that would make this issue go away plus allow you to not have to deal with manually operating your slider hitch you would want to go with a Sidewinder. For that you would need part # RP34FR which is a confirmed fit as a replacement for your 1621. This moves the pivot point back further and would prevent any more contact with your bed rails.

I attached an install video for you to check out too.
