Going with a 5 step or a 4 step scissor step for your slide-in truck bed camper will depend on where you want to mount the step, the manufacturer of the step, and also personal preference.

If you like the TorkLift GlowSteps better, I spoke with my contact at TorkLift and he recommended a 5-step scissor step # TLA7805 for your camper's door height. He said if it was mounted lower, the 4-step # TLA7804 would work fine, but he would go up to the 5-step scissor step. I personally also think the 5-step version is the way to go to be able to mount the steps closer to the door, and the extra vertical height would allow you more wiggle room in case the ground under the truck has a slight slope.

The TorkLift Glow Steps are a great option and they are made from aircraft-grad aluminum and stainless steel. The glow tape makes it easier to see the steps when getting in and out of your camper at night. Installation instructions for these steps are also linked for you.

If you want to go with a 4-step, the Brophy Aluminum Scissor Steps # AS04 is designed to mount up to 39 inches high. These aluminum steps are a great option for durability and will allow you to mount the step below the door of your camper. While the measurement from the ground to the bottom of the camper door is at the top of this stair's height range, it is still within the range of normal mounting height for the step. The installation instructions for this step are linked to this page for you.
