Replacement Master Cylinder for Titan Model 10 Actuator on 1999 Prestige Trailer

Question:

I have a 1999 Prestige tandem axle trailer with surge breaks but master cyliner is frozen. Breaks are drum on all 4 wheels. Trailer tongue is all welded construction. I think that I have identified the necessary part #s but have a few questions: 1 Do you agree that master cylinder required is DX66FR? 2 What orifice do I need to connect to my existing break lines? 3 How do I remove the master cylinder from the welded tounge? Does it all remove from the front? Thank you,

Thanks for the photos of your trailer's actuator! They were very helpful in answering your questions. Based on the photos, it appears that you have a Titan Model 10 Actuator # T1607500. For a Model 10 actuator, the # DX66FR that you referenced is the correct replacement master cylinder. If you'd also like to replace the master cylinder bracket assemblies, they are included with the master cylinder in part # T2374600.

To install the master cylinder, the orifice connector you will need is # T1209800. This orifice connector is designed to fit Titan Model 10 actuators for drum brakes.

To remove the master cylinder, you will need to remove the bolts I have indicated in the attached photo. There are 2 bolts per side that need to be removed to release the master cylinder brackets in order for that component to be removed. Based on the photo of your trailer, it appears that these bolts are inside the trailer's frame. The easiest way to access these bolts in order to remove them will be to cut an access hole in the frame. If you cannot use an access hole to reach these bolts, the actuator would need to be cut off the trailer to replace the components.

I've attached the installation instructions and service manual for the Titan Model 10 actuators for you to help in replacing your actuator's master cylinder.
