Wiring a Prodigy P2 Brake Controller on a 2009 GMC Sierra
Question:
I thought that this would be...connect like colored wires and...voila...done! The 2009 Sierra wiring harness has a white and dark blue GRN and AUX...but thats where the similarities end...there are 3 more wires in this bundle of stubbed wires...a red with black stripe labelled BATT and 2 others...light blue with white stripe and solid orange...both labelled CHSML. If I were to guess...I would guess that either one between the orange and the light blue would work...but Im confused and would appreciated some feedback.

You are correct the GM wire colors do not match the standard brake controller wiring colors.
You will want to connect the wiring as follows from your Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller - Proportional part # 90885
Connect the RED WITH BLACK STRIPE wire from the GM harness to the BLACK wire on the brake controller.
Connect the WHITE wire from the GM bundle to the white wire of the WHITE wire of the brake controller.
Connect the LIGHT BLUE/ WHITE wire of the GM bundle to the RED wire of the brake controller.
Connect the DARK BLUE wire from the GM bundle to the BLUE wire of the brake controller.
The orange GM wire is not used on the brake controller so you can tie it up out of the way.
There are two wires under the hood that have to be connected in order to make the towing package functional, one of the wires is the power wire to the brake control and the other is the battery charge line run to the Pollak Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring for the 2009 GMC Pickup, Sierra part # PK11916, that you may need to install. These wires are both Red/Black with eyelets on them. They are coiled up under the hood and will need to be connected to the under hood fuse box. One of the wires is located between the under hood fuse box and the driver side fender. The other is located under the master cylinder/brake booster assembly. See attached pic for more clarification if needed.
