Recommended 3500-lb Trailer Axle for Use on Trailer Frame Less Than 76-Inches Wide

Question:

I want a 3500 lb axle for a trailer less than a 76 inch frame width? A frame width closer to 50 inches would be great. What can you offer, I know Dexter builds them.

We offer beam axles rated for 3500-lbs that are 89-inches long with 74-inch spring centers and also axles like # CE33201GA that are 57-1/2-inches long and rated for 1800-lbs. If you want to avoid having to use an axle that is too long for your trailer width, then we have a great solution for you in the Timbren axle-less suspension kits.

Timbren kits are available with or without electric brakes and hubs and they are also available with drop-, straight or lift spindles that allow you to control the deck height of the trailer. They bolt (or weld) on to the trailer frame directly and provide excellent ground clearance thanks to their eliminating the axle beam under the trailer. Please click on the link provided to see all 3500-lb-rated Timbren suspension kits.

For a kit that provides lift to the deck height you could use kit # ASR3500S06 (no brakes, no hubs) or for a kit with brakes, hub/drums and no lift or drop use # A35RS545E which has a 5-on-4-1/2 hub bolt pattern.

Some trailer frames will require some reinforcement in order to install a Timbren kit. A simple solution is to use 2 x 2 square steel tubing between the two suspension units.
