How To Get A 7-Way And 4-Way Trailer Connector On A 2004 Ford F150 Heritage With Factory Tow Package

Question:

was wondering if the harness that you show #118242. can have a factory side by side 4 way plug and 7 way on it? Or do you sell a plug to swap out with this one?I really like the way this harness hooks up quick . but I really hate the hassle of finding my adapter, every time that I want to hook up my 4 way trailer. And if you do is there a bracket that you sell for this?

The Tow Ready Ford Replacement OEM Tow Package Wiring Harness, # 118242, will work on your 2004 Ford F150 Heritage if you have the factory tow package with the 4-way connector already on your vehicle. This will connect inline to your vehicles wiring harness and the 4-way will stay and be able to function. So you will have a 7-way and a 4-way at the rear of your vehicle.

There is no plug that will swap out on the # 118242 wiring harness that will give you a 7-way and 4-way connector side by side.

You can use the Pollak Mounting Bracket, # PK12711U, or the Draw-Tite Mounting Box, # 18159, for mounting the 7-way on the rear of your vehicle.

If you do not have the factory 4-way on your 2004 Ford F150 Heritage you can install the Tow Ready T-One Wiring Harness, # 118344. This will connect inline to your vehicles taillights and give you a 4-way at the rear of your vehicle.

Then, you can use the Hopkins Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole and 4 Pole, # 37185. This Hopkins adapter will plug into your new 4-way and mount on the rear of your vehicle. The four remaining wires will need to be hardwired to the corresponding circuits on the vehicle. The white (ground) wire will need to be attached to the vehicle frame, the black (12 volt power) wire is connected to the vehicles battery through a 40-amp circuit breaker, the blue (trailer brake) wire will be connected to the blue trailer brake feed wire on the brake controller if you have one, and the purple ( auxiliary) wire is for reverse lights if you need that circuit. If any of these connections are not needed just wire tie them up out of the way for future use.

I am sending you a link to the instructions on the T-One wiring harness.
