Power Not Reaching Brake Controller Installed on 2016 Chevy Silverado
Question:
Mike- I moved my brake controller from a 2011 Silverado to a 2016 Silverado. I purchased the harness and installed and no power. I saw your comment about the fuse and there is a fuse in position 1. On my 2011 i had to connect wires at the fuse box under the hood to 2 studs. I do not see that on the 2016, but wondered if you are aware if I need to do that?

If you're not showing any power at all on the Tekonsha Prodigy P3, # 90195, make sure you're using the correct brake controller wiring adapter, part # 3016. Use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 on the black wire of the harness to check if power is reaching the harness.
Once that's been checked, take a look at the fuse block under the hood. Make sure that there's a fuse in position number 1 and check it to ensure it hasn't blown.
The 2016 Silverado won't require completing any wring under the hood as some of the earlier models did, so just check the fuse and the wiring harness. I've linked you to some FAQ articles about brake controllers that you might find helpful.
