Swagman XTC4 Bike Rack Will Not Fold Up on 2011 Toyota Sienna with Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Installed
Question:
Installed per directions, but the measurement of 5inch to the far edge of bumper is not what I have. I have 7. So my bike rack is not able to fold up. 2011 Toyota sienna.

I have a solution for you but first a little background information. The 5 inch clearance measurement for the Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 75237 was taken on a 2015 Toyota Sienna. We haven't had a 2011 in to install this hitch and take that measurement.
Another thing is the Swagman XTC4 that you also purchased, # S64665, is only 3-1/2 inches from the center of the pin hole to the nearest part of the carrier when it is folded up. So even if the measurement had been exactly 5 inches it still would not be able to fold up. On 4-bike platform bike racks that fold up it is common to have a short clearance measurement when folded up.
One option is a hitch extender such as # C45791 which will provide 8 inches more clearance. Please note that the use of an extender reduces the tongue weight capacity of the trailer hitch by 50 percent and it will put additional stress on the trailer hitch. But if you only used it with the bike rack folded up you would be fine. But I do not recommend it with the rack down and with bikes loaded.
There are a few 4-bike platform style racks that measure exactly 7 inches when folded up but they are more costly than the XTC4. They are the following:
