Helpful Expert Reply:
Curt's 1-1/4-inch Class I hitch # C11286 is a confirmed fit on the 2016 Subaru Impreza 5-door hatchback with a single exhaust. I can offer you a lower-cost option with the same capacity, Draw-Tite # DT24959, which fits Outback and Outback Sport versions with single exhaust (but not the WRX models).
A Class I hitch can handle light towing (subject to the guidelines in the car owner's manual) or be used with a compatible Class I cargo carrier like # C18145 or a 2-bike hitch rack like # S64650.
You may care to refer to the linked help articles on trailer hitches. Feel free to tell me your intended application and I will be glad to recommend any additional items you may need.
