Roof Rack and Paddleboard Carrier Recommendations for a 2010 Ford F-150 SuperCrew
Question:
Hi. I have a 2010 Ford F-150 lariat model crew cab. I am not sure what to buy for my truck. I noticed that the Thule traverse are more expensive. Also I would like to know the quality and the features, material, durability offer both of them. I just bought to stand up paddle boards. I would like to know if both offer the same features.

First, you will want to look at the materials that the roof racks are made of and if they will be the best option for your standup paddleboards. Both Thule and Rhino-Rack offer aluminum roof rack crossbars which is what I recommend considering they will be getting wet from the paddleboards.
Everyone knows Thule and that they make a quality product with a great warranty. Rhino-Rack is newer to the US market but are huge in Australia and I don't need to tell you how tough things have to be to survive in the Outback! The Rhino-Rack roof racks are a great value, a quality product, and have a limited lifetime warranty.
For a 2010 Ford F-150 SuperCrew Cab I recommend # RR89YR which comes with everything to install the roof rack. It also comes with locks to lock the rack to the vehicle. The bars are aerodynamic to reduce noise and drag. Its everything that you ever wanted in a roof rack!
Next you will need a carrier to hold the two paddleboards. For this I do recommend using the Thule SUP Shuttle, # TH811XT, which holds 2 boards and will fit the Rhino-Rack crossbars. This carrier is padded to protect your investment and has stainless steel brackets so it's light and corrosion resistant. I have included a link to a video review of this carrier for you.
